Mounting Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller to Dash of 2009 Nissan Frontier
Question:
I have a 2009 Nissan Frontier Kingcab XE, manual transmission. Am awaiting UPS to deliver tomorrow the controller and harness Unlike the 2016 SV and PRO-X in the videos, the bracket under the dash on the right side has the connecter for the diagnostic device pic. 1, whereas the video trucks have it over on the left side near the kick panel. Am wondering if using Velcro on the QD bracket and dash is a secure enough mounting application while still staying in between the 0 to 90 degree spectrum? My idea has a limited location choice due to the design of the Nissans lower dash design with its numerous raised surfaces.

Your photo shows the OBD-II port not the brake controller harness port. For your 2009 Nissan Frontier, you will use the # 3050-P harness that will connect further behind the dash. I've attached a photo to help. This will help you to easily connect your Primus IQ # TK90160.
Regarding your mount, you will need to use screws and not Velcro for a strong enough hold for proper function. The correct mounting angle is very important for the proportional braking to work correctly.
