You did not mention if your 2016 Subaru Forester had a roof rack or not; there is a way for you to use the Yakima SkyRise Tent # Y07436 with a '16 Forester but it will not fit the factory roof rack.

It can work so long as you have an aftermarket roof rack that attaches to raised side rails on your Forester and those rails are spaced between 26" and 40-1/2" apart.

If you need a roof rack on your 2016 Subaru Forester to use the SkyRise Tent I strongly recommend the Yakima JetStream because of its strength and durability which will allow you to mount many accessories, including the SkyRise Tent. The rack that fits your '16 Forester with raised side rails consists of:

- Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00425
- TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y33TR

This rack is made of lightweight, aluminum bars that are so durable they come with a lifetime warranty. They are also very quiet with ridges that help control the flow of the air over the bars to greatly reduce any type of noise you may hear when driving. This allows you to have a peaceful drive while you get to your destination to enjoy camping in your tent.
