Best Solution for Carrying E-Bike on a Travel Trailer Using a Carrier with a Ramp

I bought a Thule EZ fold X2 for my 60# electric bike. I would like to take the bike with me when I tow my travel trailer and was going to have a receiver hitch mounted on my trailer till I read that my Thule bike rack is not to be used on the back of a travel trailer. My bike should be hauled inside my travel trailer to protect it from weather, anyway. My bike is too heavy for me to lift up onto a bike rack, but I can roll it up the stairs into my 20 foot travel trailer. I dont want to be drilling holes in my trailer. What do you suggest? My trailer is new and financed...How do I properly secure my E-bike inside my bumper pull trailer?

I do have a couple of solutions for you but you do have a very unique situation so there isn't a perfect solution that is able to address all of your concerns.

The best solution is to install a trailer hitch like the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13704 (which fits frames from 22" to 68-1/2" wide) on your travel trailer and then use the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier # UF48-979033 to carry your bike. Since this has a ramp (like the EasyFold XT #TH903202) it will help make loading your E-Bike easier. The carrier does weigh about 50 lbs though so you may need some help initially installing it if you can't lift your 60 lb E-Bike.

Then to protect your bike you can use a cover like the Horizontal Style 2 Bike Bag #S24FR. I recommend placing the bag over the carrier before loading the bike up and then rolling the bike onto the bag. Once the bike is in place zip the bag up and secure your bike with an assortment of bungee cords like # EM06664 19", # EM06656 24", # EM06658 36" and/or # EM06668 42", or you could use ratchet straps like part # EM34415. The only other solution would be to use a carrier like the Hollywood Racks Truck Bed Bike Carrier # HRT970 which bolts into the floor (or a piece of wood that you could wedge between 2 places)
