Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer that Weighs 10,000 lbs with V-Nose

Question:

2018 F150 ecoboost 13,000 max weight and 1320 max tongue with weight distribution. 3600LB trailer, max loaded possible for our job Is 10,000LB. I need a weight distribution kit that will meet these needs. The trailer is used daily. This is ugrent, we just got this truck and it squats 7 inches loaded and sways. We never needed a kit before and did not even know what it was. We have no choice but to use the truck without the kit until we get kit installed.

Since your trailer has a V-nose where most of the frame is under the trailer you'll need to use a set of bolt on brackets for the chain hangers like the # C17005.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Since your trailer is near 10k lbs total you'd have a tongue weight of a bit over 1,000 lb so the Curt system to use is the part # C17333 which has a tongue weight range of 1,000-1,500 lbs.
