Do the Trailer Hitch Holes In the Frame On a 2019 Acura TLX Need to Be Enlarged
Question:
I have a 2019 ACURA TLX I dont want to drill anything into my car! thats considered FRAME DAMAGE and will devalue my car, so what do I have to make bigger? the hole in the trailer hitch or the frame of my car. please let me know, if I take this to a mechanic to install and I have to drill into my car I will return it and not be happy.

I took a look at the install instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11535 which is a fit for your 2019 Acura TLX and did not see any mention of enlarging holes. However, I read a few of the reviews and seen there was indeed some instances in which the frame holes needed to be enlarged. Unfortunately, the size of the holes is not something we nor the hitch manufacturer has control over as there is always going to be slight variations from the vehicle manufacturer. This is rather common from certain manufacturers in which the holes were slightly smaller than they needed to be so a minor trimming was needed.
In order to be 100% certain that no modifications are needed, the only option you have is to take a 7/16" bolt and place it into the hitch holes under the vehicle (see photo). If they do go in without issues then no drilling is required but if they do not then enlarging the holes will be your only option.
