Installing the Power Wire of a Backup Camera to the Reverse Light Power on 2006 Honda Odyssey

Question:

I am finding it hard to find a way to route the wire(the one that connects the rear camera and the monitor)to the back of the car. Is it safe to run the wire in the ceiling; in between the sheet metal and the padding? Plus, would you be able to send me the link to the splice that I need, to connect the red wire to the positive wire in the reverse light? Thank you.

I looked up your specific vehicle and the green wire will be the positive wire and the black the ground. So you will connect your red wire on your backup camera to the green wire using a Quick Splice Wire Connector - Tan - 14-18 AWG (Qty 1) # 564.

It is completely fine to run that wire in the ceiling between the metal and the headliner. You can use the Self-Stripping Connector with Waterproof Sealant # SWC501746-1 to connect the camera power wire to the reverse light power wire so the camera will come on when you shift your Odyssey into reverse.
