Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 with Factory Pucks and Long Bed

Question:

I have had really good experiences with Reese 5th wheels in the past and want to continue using that brand. I got a 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 with an 8 foot bed and am looking to add a new fifth wheel that fits the pucks. What would you recommend for my truck?

I highly recommend the Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the factory puck system because of its unique jaw system that optimizes the amount of contact it has with your king pin and its settings which allow more height and cab clearance than other fifth wheel hitches.

The Reese M5 is available with a 20,000 lb capacity # RP30890 or 27,000 lb capacity # RP30895 and will fit directly in the pucks of your '19 Silverado. It uses a single-piece jaw that latches onto your king pin, ensuring complete contact and minimizing the amount of rattling. If you take a look at the accompanying photos you can check out a closer view of this jaw system, which is cleverly called a Talon jaw.

The height settings on the M5 are adjustable from between 14 inches and 20 inches, which is more adjustment than most hitches offer. Additionally, the hitch head on the M5 can be offset by one inch either forward or back for optimal clearance cab clearance.

The Reese M5 fifth wheel also offers a simplified way for you to hook up your trailer with its fully articulating head, and its Tow/No Tow indicator is another handy feature that makes the coupling process easier. It will show a green indicator when you are locked out and ready to tow and a red indicator if you are not ready to tow.

Both of the Reese M5 hitches that fit your '19 Silverado, the # RP30890 and # RP30895, come with a lifetime warranty, which speaks to how reliable and durable they are. I have added links to video reviews of both hitches for you to take a look at.
