Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Toyota Highlander Carrying Wheelchair Carrier
Question:
Your answers are to techy for me. I am wanting to buy a carrier and a electronic chair for my spouse. The hitch weighs about 140, the chair about 300. My questions are 1. Do I need a class 1, 2 or 3 class hitch. As all the weight will be on the hitch, I just want to know what is needed. Looking to buy a 2019 or 20 Hybrid Highlander.

I'll try to answer your questions without being too techy! Basically you need a trailer hitch that has enough tongue weight capacity for the weight of your carrier and chair. So you need at least 340 lbs of tongue weight. 350 lbs of tongue weight is basically the standard for Class III hitches so that would be the Class you'd need. Which the hitch Classes are just a way to organize them generally by weight capacity and size.
So for a hitch that fits a 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and would have more than enough capacity I'd recommend the etrailer hitch part # e98844 because it has a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs which would be perfect for your needs. I also attached an install video link for this hitch as well.
