Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Honda CR-V
Question:
i have a new company car a 2019 Honda CRV EX. I need a trailer hitch to carry not only my Saris Bike rack. It takes a 1 1/4 hitch but has an adapter to use with 2inch but at times i will be pulling a small trailer to carry my kayak 61 lbs and 2 mountain bikes about 35 pounds each and not sure what hitch to get. The trailer will probably be a 5x8 or 5x10. My boss is concerned about the actual weight of the trailer hitch and accessories will be so heavy to affect the ride of the CRV. Any suggestions?

Best option for a trailer hitch on your 2019 Honda CR-V will be the etrailer hitch part # E98848 because this hitch has the 2 inch hitch size which has better towing capacities and has a concealed crosstube which makes it look nicer and help with ground clearance. This will work great to carry your Saris bike rack and tow a small trailer. The weight of the hitch is on 29 lbs so it won't affect ride quality at all either.
For trailer wiring you'll want the part # 118741 because it installs easily and has highest amperage rating. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.
Since you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

I have a SWAGMAN XTC2 and need a hitch 1 1/4 for a 2019 Honda CRV. Also the most of the hitch & installation cost. Thanks

I have a 1.25 hitch for my 2019 CRV and got a Thule Helium bike rack, which recommends a 1.5 pin hole depth. My hitch only has a pin hole depth of 1 inch. Would an hitch adapter be good answer? I understand that an adapter may limit load capacity. Any feedback would be a appreciated.
