Generator Compatible with Dometic 13,500 BTU Air Conditioner for Off-Grid Camping
Question:
We need a quiet generator to assist with power outages and power our A/C when off-grid camping. Will the 333-0003 provide enough surge to power the Dometic 13500 BTU A/C on our 2018 Keystone Passport?

The etrailer 3,200-Watt Portable Inverter Generator - 2,900 Running Watts - Gas - Remote Start # 333-0003 is a really nice option for your off-grid camping. This generator has a surge power output of 3,200 watts.
I don't know what your Dometic unit pulls at startup however that is the biggest issue when off-grid camping because that start pull far more power than it takes to simply run the unit after start and many generators cannot handle the initial draw. For instance the Atwood 13,500 btu system draws 3,795 watts at start and only requires 1,265 watts to continue to run once started.
The best way to ensure your Dometic unit will start and run will either be to use a very large capacity generator or using the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup - White # ACDOM135 which will replace your rooftop unit and plug right into the Dometic wiring. This system has an integrated start capacitor so that initial startup power draw is not impacting the generator. Then after start the capacitor recharges for the next start up.
The Start Capacitor for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACMSCKIT most likely will be able to be wired to your current Dometic unit as we have had customers use just the capacitor on other units, but I can't confirm a fit because it hasn't been tested for that.
