How Is The Backup/Observation Camera Wired on a 2018 Grand Design Solitude
Question:
I just read the comment by Conner about the wiring on my Solitude he said the Furrion Observation Camera will come on when I connect the trailer? Does that mean it’s on all the time? that what I have told or only when the running lights are on. Just clarifying ,

Generally speaking, the pre-mounted camera bracket for the Furrion RV Observation Camera System part # FOS43TASF is wired as an observation system which means the camera will turn on when the vehicle's running lights are turned on. However, it could also be wired to turn on when the vehicle is placed into reverse. It all depends on how the trailer was wired from the manufacturer. If I had to take a guess for your 2018 Grand Design Solitude I would say the camera is wired as an observation system but the dealer would be able to give you an exact answer if you provided them with your VIN.
If the camera is wired to the running lights and you want it wired to the reverse lights or vice versa, all you would need to do is switch which wire the power for the camera is spliced into.
