Comparing Front Timbren and SumoSprings for a 2002 Ford F-53 Chassis

Question:

Hi, 32V Fleetwood Southwind with 2002 Ford F53 chassis, 75k miles. Plan to install Timbren or Sumospring on front only to improve smoothness of the ride just installed 4 new Koni shocks but want to maximize roadability on awful CA highways. Which product will be a better choice? Thank you,!

When comparing the ride quality between the Timbren # TFFF53B and SumoSpring # SSF-172-40-2 I recommend going with the SumoSprings.

Although Timbren is a very solid product, the SumoSprings have been proven to have more of a forgiving support over the Timbrens. This is supported by great reviews and feedback from customers. For your specific application the SumoSprings are installed so that half of each spring is on the top and the other half is on the bottom so when contact is made it is spring-to-springs whereas the Timbrens work so that the spring comes into contact with the frame directly.

Attached are some review videos for the SumoSprings that you can reference.

I have a 2020 Bounder 35P class A gasser on a F 53 chassis. Which front end enhancement would you recommend. The Timbren or Summo? My issue is the road cracks and bumps which which hammer the front end. My front axle weight is 9000 lbs gawr.

Since the Timbren springs tend to offer a bit more support, I like going with them for this application. The Timbren # TFFF53B will work perfectly on the front axle of your F-53 chassis.
