Connecting 30 Amp RV to 50 Amp Service at Campsite

Question:

I have a 2007 Arctic Fox 811 short bed truck camper and am planning a trip out west this summer. Some of the campgrounds I am looking at have only 50 amp sites and my camper is 30 amp. Ive looked at some of the options, but I think I may be suffering from some information overload, but not a clear answer to what I might use to safely operate lights, appliances, AC in the camper. Would a 50 amp male to 30 amp female protect from overloading the electrical system?

In order to plug into a 50 amp power source at the campsite you will just need an adapter like you mentioned, such as the Mighty Cord # A10-5030FHVP. The female end will connect to your camper's 30-amp cord and the male end will connect to a 50 amp outlet.

When using an adapter like this your camper will only be supplied with 30 amps of power so you don't need to worry about overloading the electrical system. I have attached a short video review on this particular adapter that you can check out as well.
