Trailer Hitch, Wiring Harness and Ball Mount Recommendation for 2019 Toyota Prius
Question:
for 2019 toyota prius I am looking to tow a very small trailer, nothing heavy but there isn't much cargo space in this vehicle and I want to make a short move. so what hitch, wiring, etc. do I need for this car?

The trailer hitch I highly recommend for your 2019 Toyota Prius is the Draw-Tite # 24966 because it has a concealed crosstube and is a bolt-on installation that will not require drilling into your vehicle's frame to install.
This Class I, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch is almost entirely hidden behind your bumper, as you can see by the accompanying photo, allowing your Prius to maintain a clean look. The hitch, which comes with a lifetime warranty, has a black powder coat finish to protect it from corrosion, a 2,000 lb towing capacity and 200 lb tongue weight capacity. I have added a link to a video of the Draw-Tite # 24966 being installed on a Prius for you to check out as well.
The correct ball mount for this trailer hitch is the Draw-Tite # 3592 which does come with a pin and clip to keep it secure to your hitch. For a hitch ball, the correct one will depend on the size of your trailer's coupler. You will need either 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # 19256 or 2" Hitch Ball # 19258.
For trailer wiring on your Prius, which will allow you to power your trailer's lights you will need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56353 which you will install by plugging into connection points in your rear cargo area and running a hot lead to your battery.
I have added links to the installation instructions for both the hitch and wiring harness for you to take a look at.

I also have a 2019 Prius and was wondering what the difference between the hitch you recommend (draw-tite 24966) and the draw-tite 24847 is. The later is cheaper and is supposed to be easier to install (difficulty 3/10, 30 mins vs 10/10, 2hrs). The ratings are exactly the same..
