Error Message on Control Panel with Lippert Ground Control After Raising Front Jacks

Question:

My front jacks are giving trouble it is at the point I can not raise my fifth wheel, also stops on retracting too at times, but mostly the RF is locking out but the LF has a few times, it will raise maybe 1/4 inch and I get a ****ERROR**** out of stoke, the jack is not extended but 4 inches so it cant be over extended. I then retract a pinch and it will raise maybe the 1/4 inch again. I read where I may need to unplug controller and I talked to a tech on the phone just curious to reset the controller do you unplug the connection only or do you need to take all power off the control module. I am a electrician by trade and have checked all voltage and connections, the motor has got to the point it sounds as if it is overloaded barely turning to the point of a slow grind before lock out. just did not know if the controller could cause this it seems motor issue??? Thank you for any advice.

In order to reset the control panel you will need to manually level the coach and then reset the zero point. If you need help with resetting the zero point you can follow the instructions below. If you were to unplug the control panel or control module that would not reset the system.

With that being said, the issue you described sounds like a problem with either the motor or leg. I would first make sure that you have 12 volt power at the control panel. In order to do this you will need to do is obtain a multimeter. Once you have this then you will need to use the ground probe (black handle) and place that on the green wire coming from the back of the harness and then use the power probe (red handle) and place that on the black wire coming from the back of the harness. You should read 12 volts but if you do not have 12 volts you will need to trace this wire back while checking for shorts as well as checking the batteries to make sure they are fully charged.

If the control panel has 12 volts then you are going to want to replace either the motor or leg and motor. In order to determine if just a replacement motor will suffice you will want to operate the jack legs manually using the manual override. If you feel any resistance then you would be best to just replace the motor and leg with the Replacement Lead Leg for Lippert Components Ground Control 3.0 Electric Leveling System part # LC305340. If you do not feel any resistance then you should be able to replace just the motor which is the Replacement Hall Effect Motor for Lippert Components Ground Control 3.0 Leveling System part # LC343758.

How to Reset Zero Point:

1. Press the “CONNECTED” icon (Fig. 17A) at the top of the leveling screen quickly 6 times. Wait a few seconds until the gear icon with "OPTIONS" appears (Fig.18A ).
2. Press the gear icon with "OPTIONS" (Fig. 18A).
3. The screen will show "SET UP: Zero Mode Press Enter" (Fig. 19).
4. Press the “Enter button” (Fig. 19A).
5. The touch panel will present options for further leveling of the trailer if needed. The screen will also state "ZERO POINT CALIBRATION - Press Enter to Set" (Fig. 20).
6. Press "ENTER" (FIG. 20A).
7. Screen will show "Zero Point Stability Check ... Please Wait" (Fig. 21), followed by "Zero Point Set" (Fig. 22).
