Will Installing Trailer Wiring Harness Void Warranty on 2019 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
Hello, I dont know if this question has been asked already but I have a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with LED package and no towing package from factory. If I am to install this trailer kit myself will it void the extended warranty I have on it? And also does this kit come with a mount to have the 4 pin connection near the hitch as some pictures shown?

That is a great question. The good news is that consumers are protected by the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This act essentially states that if something were to break or go wrong on your Jeep and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor the warranty regardless of what modifications have been made unless the modification is what caused the issue. Installing an aftermarket wiring harness like the excellent Tekonsha T-One # 118786 yourself that you referenced will not void your extended warranty.
This custom harness is exactly the one I would have recommended as it features the highest amp capacity and will plug right into factory ports behind the driver and passenger tail lights on your 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It does not come with a bracket but you can add the Tow Ready # 18144 along with the No-Drill Mount # C57202 to allow you to easily mount it up along the hitch.
I have attached a couple installation videos that you can also use for reference.

I just purchased a Jeep Wrangler. I want to buy a small travel trailer. I asked the dealer how much it would cost to have a hitch and brake control installed. He told me it takes about an hour to install a hitch and 6 hours to wire it. The cost was over $1300.00. I said something to the effect, OK I will check with the RV dealer I want to buy the camper from, because that cost can be included in the financing. The snapped back and said if it's install by anyone other than the dealer my warranty will be void should I have any electrical problems. First I don't understand why it would take 6 hours just to wire it and second, why having it installed at the RV dealer would void my warranty. RV dealers install hitches, brake controls and wires all the time. I would think they would know how to do this correctly. Please advise. Thanks
