Rear Spare Tire Clearance for Using Cargo Carrier on 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
Hi, What measurements do I need to know if this will fit my FJ Cruiser with the spare on the back door?

To measure clearance for an accessory installed in the hitch on your FJ you will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole rearward to the back edge of the spare tire, which is usually the rear-most part of the vehicle. I linked a helpful article for you that shows exactly how to take this measurement.
The Curt hitch cargo carrier # C18151 when empty and folded up into its storage position will extend back from the hitch pin hole by 9-inches. This is shown in the included photo. We generally recommend having an inch of safety margin, so if the rear edge of your FJ's spare were to be 8-inches back from the hitch pin hole you'd have that extra inch and be good to go without concern for the carrier rubbing on the spare tire cover.
