Difference Between 4-Point Sway Control of Equal-i-zer and Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Systems

Question:

I was reading some previous questions/answers regarding 2 and 4 point sway control and difference between the Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control and the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Systems and I was wondering of you could help clarify some things because the different posts contains conflicting information. One response stated that both the Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control EQ37100ET and the Curt TruTrack C17500 systems were 4 point sway control. Another response stated the Curt TruTrack was only a 2-point sway control and the Equal-i-zer was the superior system, so I am kind of wondering which was the accurate response. I am looking to update my weight distribution system to a 4-point system, but would like to know if the Curt TruTrack is actually a 4-point sway control system. If the Curt TruTrack system is a 4-point sway control system, how does it compare with Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control? Also, how does the Curt TruTrack and Equal-i-zer 4-point sway compare to the Blue Ox Sway Pro. I will probably go with the 15K GTW version of which ever option I decide to go with.

Thanks for your question. The Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - 15K system # C17501 you mentioned is a 4 point sway control system. The four points consist of the 2 points where the trunnion bars meet the frame brackets and the other 2 points are near the head where the trunnion bars integrate. There is a spring loaded ball bearing that is another point of friction on each bar giving you the other two friction points. I've attached a photo to assist.

This system also has an integrated grease zerk to minimize noise and keep the system operational. I think these two elements make it superior to the more well known Equal-I-zer system # EQ37140ET. It also comes with the hitch ball and doesn't need a special socket like the Equal-I-zer to install the hitch ball. I also like the trunnion with bracket systems over the chain tension system like the Blue Ox SwayPro # BXW1500 which won't have the same ground clearance.
