What is the Correct Custom 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2006 Ford F-250 Short Bed
Question:
My question is do i have the right rail kit for my truck.The year of truck is 2006 and the rail kit is 2007 will the custom rail kit work without drilling different holes?My truck is 6ft 10 1/2 in. long. I have a 2006 ford super duty f-250 i have a 18k part no#30084 hitch & a rail kit part#50043-58.

First, the # 50043 brackets are designed to fit a 1999-2004 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty but not a 2006. For a 2006 Ford F-250 custom 5th wheel installation kit, you will need the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, # RP50082-58.
The brackets in this kit are designed specifically for your truck so you will not have to drill into the frame to install them. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you.
To install the Reese Elite Series Hitch, # RP30144, you would need a completely different installation kit, # RP30073. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you.
