Recommended Weight Distribution System with Pole Tongue Adapter for Pontoon Boat Trailer
Question:
21 pontoon on a double axle trailer with electric brakes on the front axle. Unit sways like crazy when being passed by semis or on uneven pavement. Towing with a 2009 Kia Borrego with 4.6 l V8 tied to a 6 speed automatic. Curb weight is 5000 lb, max tongue weight is 750 lb. Vehicle was designed for towing, complete with factory hitch. Could you recommend anti sway weight distributing system with an adapter for the pole tongue?

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 21 foot pontoon trailer, you will need to know the loaded tongue weight of your trailer to get the best system. For your pole tongue adapter, I recommend the Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5950. Then I recommend you get the Equal-I-zer system that is the correct fit for your tongue weight. I've attached an article to assist and have also linked the page to the Weight Distribution systems compatible with that adapter. The correct fit will be based on your total tongue weight and you want that number to fall in the middle range of the system which is outlined on each product page under the tongue weight spec.
The system will come with the hitch ball, but you will also need a thin walled socket like # ALL643216 for installation.
