Replacement Trailer Hub Recommendation for Dexter 8-258
Question:
The inside of my hub has the following information: Dexter MTA 10 8-258 9 I would like to replace both right and left lide bearings and possible the hubs with a easy to maintain setup. What is my best option for travel free worries. I am pulling my windsurfing trailer to Mexico and do not want any issues with bearings or hubs. I currently have bearing buddies and blowing grease out seal on inside.

The Dexter Hub part # 8-258-5UC1-EZ is an exact match for the hubs you have on your trailer currently and would be a great choice. Bearing Buddies can be pretty convenient but the problem with them is that they make it too easy to over fill the hub with grease which causes the seal to blow out like you are experiencing. Your current Bearing Buddies would fit this hub too and as long as you don't over fill the hubs you'd be fine.
I attached a review video for a Bearing Buddy that shows how it should be installed and used for you to check out as well.
