Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2007 Ram 3500 Cab-and-Chassis
Question:
So they say reese low profile will fit perfect directly to chassis, but my chassis is 33 1/2 from out side/outside and 28 inside/inside. Resse low profile is 25” bolt to bolt, so it won’t make it. What do i need to make it fit? Do i need a metal plate or something?

The best fifth-wheel hitch option for your 2007 Ram 3500 cab-and-chassis model is the Reese Low-Profile 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30054. This particular hitch is designed specifically for cab-and-chassis trucks because of its low height settings (9-1/2 inches to 12-1/2 inches) that allows it to work well for the taller beds that are on these types of trucks. It also features a robust towing capacity of 30,000 pounds and you won't need to install separate base rails because it mounts directly to the frame.
Just note that some welding and moderate fabrication will be required during installation. I have attached the installation manual as well so you can get a better idea of this process.
