It will activate the trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in the Jeep and continuous diagnostic checks will alert you to any potential problems. To install the brake controller all you need is the Plug-In Wiring Adapter # TK93VR which allows for an easy "plug-and-play" installation. One end of the adapter plugs into the brake controller itself while the other end connects to the factory port beneath the dash.
