Are Free Floating Airbags Required for a 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon

Question:

Hi, Im looking to put airbags on my 2018 ram powerwagon 2500 and am trying to figure out what the best way to go is. Ive read a lot of info but cant find exactly what I need. The way the suspension is set up on the powerwagon is to articulate so you have to have the air bag floating and not fastened to the axle so I think you need to use daystar cradles? Any help would be much appreciated. Local shops are stumped .

The 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon does indeed have a suspension setup which offers more travel than the other models. However, the range of motion for all of the airbags kits we offer for your truck will be sufficient for any situation you will encounter on a paved road. When you take the vehicle off road and there are large dips and bumps which maxes out the suspension, this is when the range of motion will become an issue for the airbags. As you mentioned, this issue can easily be fixed with a set of aftermarket Daystar Universal Air Bag Cradles which we currently do not offer.

For your Power Wagon, I recommend using the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2598 which offers a bolt-on installation and made in USA quality. There also will not be any issues if you have a 5th wheel hitch or intend to install one either.
