Troubleshooting Air Springs Leaking on 2004 Volkswagen Passat

Question:

Hi! I just installed the items few days ago, and after a 2 days the air pressure just goes somewhere else! I take the soap and water test, but unfortunately we didn’t see any leaks. Right now, if I loaded the system with air, after a few hours, the air pressure is starting to going down. I don’t know what’s going on with it, but looks like the item defective. Hopefully you can help me! Thank you!

I'm sure that is incredibly frustrating. It sounds like an extremely slow leak so keeping soapy water around for a few hours is really the only way to determine where the leak is taking place. Most of the time the issue is with the tubing not be cut perfectly straight using a tool like # AL10530. Sometimes scissors or other cutters can change the shape of the tubing just enough to cause a leak. I recommend securing the fittings and then using a cutter on your Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs - Rear Axle # F4105 to see if that solves the problem.

If this does not solve the problem with leaking, it is covered under warranty if the air bag or fittings are defective.
