How to Activate Brake Controller and 12V Power Circuits in 7-Way Connector on 2005 Silverado
Question:
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado p\up. Is there a fuse or circuit breaker up front that could be interfering with juice reaching some pins in the female socket? Thx!

Expert Reply:
On the 7-way trailer socket on your 2005 Chevy/GMC pickup certain circuits such as the 12V trailer power feed and the brake controller output will not be active on the 7-way until you make connections at the power box under the hood.
You can refer to the linked article which details the process of making those connections. Photos are included to show you where to find the red and blue wires. You will also need to install fuses to activate those newly-wired circuits. This too is covered in the linked article.
