Troubleshooting Trailer Running Light Circuit Not Functioning on 2014 Honda Odyssey
Question:
2014 Honda Odyssey, Honda installed wiring for hitch, it was damaged so I replaced it a with generic 4 wire harness. Did not replace the Honda factory box located near the rear wheel well, just cut the wires and spliced them together. Hooked up all the wiring colors correctly, lights work when I brake or using a turn signal. Used tester, worked great for turn signals but couldn’t get a response from the brown wire, even testing the brown wire itself. Do I need to replace the whole wiring system from Honda or what am I doing wrong?

Sounds like the trailer wiring issue you have for your 2014 Honda Odyssey is related to the tow package wiring setup of the vehicle. What I would recommend first is to check under the hood of your vehicle for the trailer running light circuit fuse and replace if needed as it sounds like possibly a blown fuse. We do have the part # 118521 though which will replace the converter box and wiring if the problem happens to be there insted. If the fuse you checked looks good and you still have no running lights for the trailer you'd want the # 118521 instead.
