Recommended Timbren Axle-Less Suspension with Parking Brake Operated by Hand

Question:

I was looking into buying a Hand-operated parking brake similar to the setup talked about at :https://www.etrailer.com/question-137663.html I was hoping to have atleast a 7200-8500lb axle rating and I noticed the timbren products were ratied at 3500lbs. Do you have any suggestions.

I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Spindle w/ Brake Flange - Regular Tires - 7K # TASR7KS01 which are the highest rated capacity axles we carry. With this you can use the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit w/ Parking Brakes - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 6K # 23-112-113 which will work fine with the 7K axle.

Then you can use the Titan Breakaway and Parking Kit for Drum Brakes # T2385200 which will require you to make slight modifications for connection to the mechanical lever on the back of the brake assemblies. This modification is basically adding a bolt, washer and nut that you will wrap the cable around much like a bicycle brake. I've attached some videos to assist as well as a photo to show you that lever.

For your hub assemblies you will use the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 12" - 8 on 6-1/2 # 42866UC3-EZ. I've attached videos to assist.
