Installing Anti-Rattle Bracket Included with MaxxTow MaxxHaul Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier
Question:
How do you properly install the anti rattle bracket that comes with the The MaxxTow MaxxHaul Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier part # MT70101 clamp around style anti-rattle device. Any videos? And is it solely for side to side motion or for vertical motion or both? Picking up a bike in the AM and want to make sure I’ve got this right.

As you mentioned the MaxxTow MaxxHaul Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier # MT70101 includes a clamp-around anti-rattle device. We do not yet have an installation video for this carrier but looking at the picture you attached (thank you!) it appears that you have it installed correctly. As long as the front edge of the "L-shaped" portion of each plate is overlapping the front edge of the hitch receiver (it's a little hard to tell this by the picture) then it will do a nice job of reducing movement and vibration at the connection. With everything tightened down it will help reduce a lot of the vibration at the connection but as you suspected it likely won't do much for up and down play.
If after your first trip you see a lot of room for improvement in this department I recommend using a different anti-rattle deivce in its place. I really like the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061. This will slide over the shank of the motorcycle carrier and the U-bolt will hook around the collar of the receiver. This does a great job of reducing both up and down and side to side movement during travel.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.
