Recommended Electronic Sway Control for 2001 Chevy 2500 Towing a 2016 Forest River Wildwood
Question:
I have a 2001 2500 HD Chevy with Allison transmission 8.1 L gas engine. The camper I’m towing is 29 ft forest river wildwood 29 FKBS 2016. I have tried everything. I bought a heavy duty Blue Ox sway distribution system. I have the correct measurement for setting up the hitch. I have verified with the camper place I bought my camper from. I still have sway. I’ve moved all the inside weight closer to the tongue but still sways. It gets really bad when I go over 50 mph. Will the TES help with my camper’s electric brakes? I really need help! I’m going crazy.

The Tuson Electronic Sway Control System for Electric Trailer Brakes - 1 to 4 Axles # 335TSC-1000 will apply your trailer brakes side to side as needed to help combat sway. It mounts along the center of your trailer between 5 and 10 feet from the coupler hitch ball and splits the braking circuit into two separate circuits. It does require wire like # 12-1-1 sold by the foot to complete the system.
This system will absolutely help your weight distribution system to control the sway. You will want to make sure your weight distribution system is rated correctly, so I have attached an article to assist.
