Hitch Recommendation for Rear of Travel Trailer for Bike Rack

Question:

I mounted a bolt on receiver hitch on the rear of my Travel Trailer on the 4inch square sewer hose tube. With three bikes bouncing around back there, it is deforming the tube and loosening up. I am sure that this would solve the problem, but wonder if someone has come with a solution as to how to attach the end of the strap to the back of the trailer, without doing damage to it? The back of my trailer is a sheet of fiberglass panel.

The rear of a travel trailer has a very rough ride quality. Most bike racks aren't really rated for use in that application. That said, not all bumpers are rated for having a hitch installed on them. You'd have to check with the manufacturer to determine if having a hitch installed is recommended. Based on the damage you have now I'd assume it's not.

Typically a frame mounted hitch like the part # 13703 is the better choice.
