Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our Valet Truss and Quick Coupler kit. So this is a pair, they pair together, and they work on your Dahon folding bikes, and allow you to quickly and easily use cargo accessories with your bicycles. So this is gonna work with most of your Dahon folding bicycles, as long as they have the three-bolt attachment point at the front, you should be good to go. So this is gonna be a kit. You're gonna get the Valet Truss and the Quick Coupler with this, along with the included hardware.
What's not included are gonna be the tools used to tighten everything down. So you're gonna need two Allen keys, and you're gonna need a screwdriver, possibly, to move your brackets out of the way, and a flat head to pop the heads off of your bolts in front of your bicycle. So this truss is made of aluminum, which keeps it lightweight. You also have this nice black finish here, great for your bicycles to match them, but also help keep this free from corrosion and rust. This is to be used with your Dahon accessories.
So here, I have the Quick Coupler as well as the basket. So that just pops right onto that truss. Notice how that pops into place. The red shows whether it's engaged or not. This allows you to carry up to 20 pounds.
When used with the Quick Coupler, notice how you just need to pull on this, and then you can disengage your accessory, and pop it right out. Now remember, you do have to exert a little bit of force to put your accessories into place, but once they're on, they're on nice and secure, and they're not popping off anytime soon. Just make sure that you install everything properly. This includes three bolts to connect it to your bike. Let's take a look at that process.
So before installing your Valet Truss, please make sure that you either have enough space or you have the right connections for it. So notice how we have the three holes right here. Perfect, that's what we need. But we do have a reflector in front. So you may have to either take off that reflector or tilt it down to the side just because it is in the way for where this is going to mount. You can then just use your nails or a flat head screwdriver to pop off these plastic tabs. There we go, and that opens up the three holes. You have included hardware with your truss, and that's gonna be these three bolts. They include this washer in there. So you're just gonna pop those into the holes on your bike. And the tool to tighten them down is not included. So I'm just using a Allen key that fits those bolts. Now just tighten all three bolts. You don't have much clearance in there, so you may have to go slow. Quick tip, please make sure that your bike cables, if you do have these style breaks are on the outside of your Valet Truss and not both to one side. That way, the truss itself does not interfere with your brake lines. This is made of fiberglass and nylon, so it's very lightweight, and this pairs with your Valet Truss, which is made of aluminum. So all of this is lightweight, but also sturdy because you need them to be durable enough to carry your cargo. So this installs to your bag or your basket. So I'll just guide you through that process. So taking a look at the pieces, notice that one has the nuts for your bolts. The other has the connection for your coupler. So the coupler connection for the Valet Truss is gonna go on the back of your bag or your basket, and the one with the nuts is gonna go into the front. So just attach the bolts through the back, and that's gonna pop in through the front, and then you're gonna use that to secure that front plate. Once you've tightened all four bolts down with your hex wrench, you just need to pop this onto your Valet Truss, and that's it, you're ready to go. And that was a look right here at our Valet Truss and Quick Coupler kit for your Dahon folding bicycles here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline, and I hope you enjoyed the journey..
