What is the life expectancy of these batteries?

There are so many factors that can be attributed to battery life that a hard number of years for the life span of a Breakaway Battery like # HM20008 is nearly impossible to determine. In cold weather climates like in the northern United States, the cold will take its toll on the battery and it will not last as long.
The same is true for hot climates such as in the Southwestern United States. And there are also marine areas, and/or areas that see a lot of rain.
In addition to weather there is how much use the battery is seeing. A battery that sits for a long time is more likely to need a charge or be dead than one that sees regular use and receives a charge from the trailer.
To maximize the battery life, I recommend using a charger from CTEK, # CTEK56353. This charger will not only charge the battery but will also provide pulse-maintenance and will not overcharge the battery like trickle chargers can do. I have included a link to a video review of the charger for you.
