Can the Yakima SpareRide Bike Rack be Used on an RV Spare Tire
Question:
Can this be mounted on a RV spare tire?

While the Yakima SpareRide # Y02599 cannot be used on an RV spare tire there are other racks that you can use. However, none of the compatible racks mount to the spare tire itself but if your RV has a 4 to 4-1/2 inch square steel bumper then you could use the Swagman Around the Spare Deluxe rack # S80501. The bumper would also need to be rated for the combined weight of the rack (about 10 pounds) and the bikes.
If your RV does not have the proper kind of bumper then you could install a trailer hitch such as # 13703 and then use an RV-approved bike rack. I have included a link to the racks that are RV-approved.
