Does Slider Hitch Need to be Moved While Towing
Question:
I was watching the video on the slider hitch. Since this is my first experience with a 5ht wheel I had a couple questions. The guy on the video said when you are making turns you need to slide the hitch back towards the tailgate. Is this while towing of just maneuvering into a spot? Can the 5th wheel be towed if the hitch is back closer to the tailgate?

When towing with the sliding Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # 16516 you slide the hitch back towards the tailgate any time you need to make a sharp, slow-speed turn which includes while towing, yes.
The towing position is with the hitch closest to the cab of your 2011 Ford F-150; you will need to lock it in that position in order to tow so it should not be with the hitch back closer to the tailgate.
You will need base rails in the bed of your '11 F-150 and the best option for you is the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Ford F150 # C16441-204 because it will not require drilling into your truck's frame to install the brackets which makes the installation a simpler process.
