How to Choose Correct Replacement Electric Brakes

Question:

I have no clue what they axle are on my 20 foot cattle trailer. I know the are 6 bolt 15 inch chevy large hole rims that fit the hubs. Now what i want to do is replace the entire break backing plate and breaks. So what measurements do I need to take? Thank you

To determine the correct brake assemblies that will fit your trailer, you need to know your axle's weight capacity, the size of your wheels, your mounting flange bolt pattern, which will be 4-bolt or 5-bolt and will depend on the diameter of your axle. For example, 4-Bolt Brake Mounting Flange # 4-35 will fit a 2-3/8" round axle. You are also going to need to measure the inside diameter and depth of your drum.

I've added a link for you to a help article on what you need in order to electric brakes which I strongly recommend reading; if you get back to me with this information I would be able to tell you what you'll need.
