Can Lippert Bolt-On Shock Kit be Installed Inside Frame Rails on Trailer with Axle Over Leaf Springs

Question:

A couple of questions. The instructions only show installation with the leaf above the axle will this kit work if the leafs are mounted under the axle? Also it mentions a required space between the tire and frame, does this mean that the shock has to be mounted on the tire side of the mounting bracket or can you install the shock on the inside portion of the frame?

The Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit # LC281255 referenced in your question can indeed be installed on trailers like yours that have the axle mounted above the leaf springs. You will just want to orient the shock mount so that it doesn't interfere with the axle as the suspension compresses and extends.

The shocks are typically installed on the outside of the frame rails like you mentioned but Lippert has told us in the past that the shock can be installed on the inside of the rails as long as there are no obstructions like a water tank in the way.
