Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2007 Chevy HHR

I have a 2007 Chevy HHR and am looking for the parts I need to flat tow it behind my motorhome, what all would I need?

We have everything you need to flat tow your 2007 Chevy HHR. The first thing you'll need is a base plate kit. This is what provides the connection point for the tow bar to the vehicle frame. For that we have the Roadmaster kit part # 3141-1 which is a confirmed fit. Next you'll need a tow bar. For that we have the Roadmaster Sterling # RM-576 which is very easy to use and comes with safety cables and wiring to go from the rear of the tow vehicle to the front of your HHR. For a tow bar cover to protect it when not in use you'd then want the part # RM-055-3.

To wire your HHR so that the tow vehicle can control the taillights of your HHR we have the custom fit Hopkins kit part # HM56100 that installs easily and works well without requiring any splicing of the taillight wiring.

For supplemental braking you'll then want the SMI DUO part # SM99251 which is our installers's favorite kit. Reason being that it's the easiest to install and works very well. It will apply the brakes of your HHR with the same intensity as your tow vehicle. You'll need a stoplight switch installed in your vehicle too so that the system knows when you are applying the brakes. For that you'd want the part # RM-751428.

For a charge line kit you'd then want the part # RM-156-25 which will keep the battery topped off when towing.

Most likely you will also need a high low adapter so that the tow bar will be level when you are flat towing. I attached a link to a page that has all of the ones we carry.
