Connecting Power to the Prodigy P3 on a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 Without OEM Power Wire
Question:
I’m preparing to install the P3 brake controller on a 2011 GMC 2500 WT I bought used a few months ago. I cannot find the brake control wire between the fuse box and driver’s side sidewall. I suspect that when the former owner was removing his plow he may have cut that wire at the firewall. Do y’all have a wiring diagram and suggestions on how i can run a new wire from the fuse terminal and where that wire would splice into the brake wiring in the cab? Could I run it directly to the P3 controller? Thanks for any help you can offer!

If you cannot locate the power wire for your Prodigy P3 # 90195 on your 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 then I recommend just installing some aftermarket wiring instead of trying to tap into the wiring on your Sierra. This will ensure that everything works properly for your P3 and on your pickup.
To do this you simply need some 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1, a 20A Circuit Breaker # PK54520, and 2 Ring Terminals # 44-5310A for the circuit breaker. The only other thing you will need is a ring terminal for the battery. The 10 Gauge wire will need to be routed through your firewall and then connected to the black wire of the P3 with one of the butt connectors that came with the brake controller.
Attached is a picture for you to check out and a helpful article on routing wire through a firewall.
