Base Plates for 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

I bought the Blue Ox Tow Bar along with the wiring equipment and safety chains. I have not bought the base plates yet for my 2016 Chevy Silverado but I plan to. I believe I will need to drop down the distance on my Class C Rv a couple inches to make level. This one appears that the 3 way ball can be removed and then I will just insert the tow bar end that would go into the receiver on the Class C hitch. Would that work or would there be too much play?

No, a ball mount will not work as a way to flat tow your 2016 Chevy Silverado, you will need to add base plates to your truck and then use a high/low adapter. I've linked the page below to your options to assist.

Along with the tow bar and base plates you need a high-low adapter rated for the actual loaded weight of your truck. This way you won't need to drop down the distance on your Class C RV, you only need the adapter for level towing. I've attached an article to assist. The adapter you need is going to depend on some measurements you'll need to take. I have added a link to a help article on high-low adapters which explains the measurements you'll need, as well as a link to our page with our selection of adapters. For your baseplates, I recommend the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-3177-1 along with adapter # RM-033 for your Blue Ox Tow Bar.
