Your 1989 Shasta 240 is either a Revere series with a 4,625 lbs gvwr or a Roadmaster series with 4,755 lb gvwr. In either instance we can determine a weight distribution system for you. The trailer tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight and then you add any cargo weight behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. This gives you the total tongue weight rating.

For a total tongue weight rating between 400 and 800 lbs, I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800. This system requires a hitch ball with 1-1/4 inch shank like # A-90 for a 2 inch ball or # 63840 for a 2-5/16 inch option. With either option, I recommend the thin walled socket # ALL643216 for installation. I've attached a video to assist.
