Wiring Adapter for Curt Brake Controller on 2008 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Curt-Brake-Controller-C84VV I have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma. I ordered the above brake controller. The wiring under my dash appears to be a 7 pin connector, but the controller appears to have a 4 pin. Did I order the wrong part, or is there an adapter? Ill probably have it installed professionally, but Id like to show up with the parts needed for the installation. Thank you.

If your 2008 Toyota Tacoma has a factory 7-way, the only thing you will need to install the Curt Discovery Trailer Brake Controller # C84VV is the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter # C51362 which will plug into the port underneath the dash of your '08 Tacoma.
If your truck does NOT have the factory 7-way you would need to add 4-way # 118496 along with Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. You will also need to use Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Trailer Brake Controllers # C51515 and splice that wiring into the brake controller wiring of your Tacoma.
