Does Primus IQ Brake Controller Work with Titan BrakeRite Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator

Question:

etrailer - I purchased the Titan Disc Brake Kit and BrakeRite Electric-Hydraulic Actuator - Tandem, 3,500-lb Axle - T4843800 for my boat trailer. I am pulling the trailer with a 03 Chevy 2500HD with a Primus IQ Proportional Brake Controller. When testing the brakes, the controller does not apply enough force from the Brake Rite controller to stop the trailer. I did not have any boost set on the controller. I just want to double check the Primus IQ is compatible with the Brake Rite pump. Also, can you recommend a boost level to start with on the brake controller? Trailer weight is approximately 6,000 lbs. Thanks

You need a brake controller that's compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes and the Primus IQ, part # TK90160, isn't. It only works with electric trailer brakes.

Instead I recommend replacing the controller with the Prodigy P2, part # 90885, or P3, part # 90195. Personally I would choose the P3 because of the LCD but they'll both work great with your Titan BrakeRite, part # T4813100.
