Recommended Weight Distribution System for 900 lb Trailer Tongue Weight
Question:
I have a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD FE.. I just had a Curt hitch 900 lbs tongue wt and 6000 lbs gross... looking at purchasing a Curt wt distribution system to match it... is this the model I should order... Also, does not allow back means a uninstall the bars prior to backing up? Thanks

The Curt Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # C17062 will work well for your 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and trailer with 900 lb tongue weight as long as that is the loaded tongue weight and you have less than 100 lbs in your vehicle behind the rear axle. If that isn't the case you would bump to the # C17063 system based on total tongue weight.
This system does not allow backing up to due to the friction bar sway control. If you disconnect that bar, you do not need to disconnect the rest of the system when backing up.
A better option is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion # FA92-00-1200 which is rated for total tongue weights between 800 and 1200 lbs.
With either system I recommend the 2 inch hitch ball # A-90 or the 2-5/16 inch diameter ball # A-6. You may also be interested in thin walled socket # ALL643216 which is required to install a hitch ball on the Fastway or Equalizer systems due to design.
