Can a Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch Be Used with a Pullrite Capture Plate
Question:
Im buying a new 2018 F350 SD SB with factory rails and was looking at the Demco, but I have to tow the used FW to the dealer and its pin box has a Pullrite capture plate welded to it. Will the Demco accept the Pullrite capture plate? I currently tow the trailer with a Super glide mounted in a 2005 F350 SD SB. The new trailer has a Lippert rota-flex pinbox. Otherwise I was going to use a 18k Superglide to make things easier with appropriate capture plate. Thanks,

There is a possibility that the Capture Plate for Pullrite SuperGlide Hitches will work with a Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch but I cannot confirm this nor recommend you use one with the other. If everything locks into place when you go to couple the two together and it seems tight then it might be okay just to get the trailer back to the dealer but you are running a risk as the two components are not designed nor intended to work with one another. You could also cut the capture plate off of the pin box as the new owner of the trailer is more than likely going to want to remove it anyhow.
When you do get your new 2018 Ford F-350 then I recommend using the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider part # DM8550024. This hitch has a 18,000 lb weight capacity, will fit into the factory puck system, and has the auto sliding head I am sure you are well aware of. In order to use this hitch with the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box you are also going to want to use the Demco Hijacker Autoslide Capture Plates part # DM6171.
I have attached an install video of the above hitch for you as well.
