Hand Winch for Utility Trailer

Question:

I’m looking to put a hand winch on a open utility trailer. The trailer is 7x14 big Tex with ramp on the back. Top rail is tube wood floor. I use it to carry my little boat 10.2’ bass tender or sun dolphin boat. I would like to mount a hand winch in the front to assist me in pulling the boat up the ramp and into the trailer I would like something to mount the winch on so the handle will go all the way around so off the floor of the trailer or mount it to the front rail Any ideas for this application would be great. I don’t want to use the space between the coupler and trailer because I want to put a trailer toolbox or storage unit there also. Please let me know

There are plenty of winches like the JIF Marine # 315-W2500D that will be highly effective for your utility trailer but the issue, as you know, as turning the handle. There are no specific winch mounts we can offer for your application and though it likely possible, the mount would be something you would have to fabricate yourself and bolt your winch to.
