Complete Wiring for Lights, Electric Brakes and Controller for a 94 GMC 1/2 Ton Truck and Trailer
Question:
Do you have an all inclusive kit for wiring a triple axle trailer with electric brakes. I am pretty handy and understand schematic diagrams. But retail stores dont seem to have everything I need.

Lets start with your 1994 GMC 1/2 Ton Truck. You will need to start with the # 118315 4-Way connector. Once the 4-Way is installed, see instructions link, you will need the Brake Controller Installation Kit, # ETBC7, and a brake controller. I recommend the P3 Brake Controller, # 90195, which is one of the best controllers we carry. We have detailed instructions for installation of the controller and the wiring kit, see links, and we have installtion videos of a brake controller and wiring on a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban that should be very helpful.
Now for the trailer. You will need an appropriate length of Double Bonded 10 Gauge Wire, # 10-2-1. You will wire one wire from each brake magnet to ground and the other wire, it does not matter which, to the 12 volt output wire from the trailer connector. I drew a diagram, see link showing how the trailer brakes can be wired.
For wiring the tail lights on the trailer, you can use the Bonded 4 Wire, # 16-4B-1. For a trailer side connector the 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector, # PK12706, would work great. We have a video showing how to wire this connector also.
