Bypassing the Factory Brake Controller on a 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500
Question:
I have a 2016 Silverado 3500. I do not like the factory electric brake controller. i am considering the Part Numbers: 90195,3016 P3 and connector on the 2016, to do this do I still need to run the blue wire from the cab to the 7 pin connector? or has GM finally gotten rid of that requirement. i have looked at the GM UPFITTER website, and it looks like that ends in 2015. Did i see that wrong? Thank you for your assistance.

You will likely have to manually run the blue wire from the # 3016 wiring harness to the 7-Way trailer connector at the back of your 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 and replace the wire from the factory controller that will be in the 7 o'clock position (if looking at the back where the wires attach).
Basically on the end of the 3016 harness that plugs into the truck you would remove the blue wire and attach a length of wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot), run it through the firewall, and back to the 7-Way.
