The best trailer hitch for your 2018 Honda CR-V Touring with the hands-free tailgate is the Curt, part # C13397. I prefer the Curt over the Draw-Tite hitch, part # 76128, because the Curt's crossbeam is completely hidden behind the vehicle's bumper. All you see when it's installed is the receiver opening and the safety chain loops. The installation is a little more in depth, but in the long run I think it's worth it.

No matter which hitch you choose in order to maintain your hands-free tailgate, you will have to stop by a local Honda dealer for their Tailgate Sensor Trailer Hitch Adapter, Honda p/n 08U59-TLA-100A. All trailer hitches will interfere with the tailgate sensor where it currently sits, so it must be relocated with this adapter which is only available at Honda dealers.

If you plan on using this trailer hitch for a bike rack, cargo carrier or other hitch accessory, I've attached links to our hitch accessories for you to check out.

This will depend on the rates at your local shop or dealer. Unfortunately I'm not able to say how much the total install cost would be for both the hitch and sensor relocation kit - you'll just want to call around to get some good estimates. The install manual attached to the trailer hitch product page should help with this.

@ChrisR ... I plan to come to the Wentzville Service Installation Center.
