1996 Ford Ranger Trailer Wiring Harness Installation

Question:

I purchased and installed the light kit for my Ford Ranger pickup. I installed it, and it worked well with a test light. The instructions say to mount the module in the trunk or a location protected from weather. Thats hard to do under the back of an open pickup truck. I attached it to the inside of the step bumper. Am I going to have problems with this thing when it gets wet?? Also, there was no ring terminal on the white wire for using the ground screw. I am assuming this will be adequately grounded through the vehicle wiring...

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55325 is as you stated designed to fit your Ford Ranger, so it will handle getting wet from puddles and rain. What it is not designed for is submersion, so you will be fine with your mounting location. This system does not require the ring terminal for a ground to your truck frame. It will be adequately grounded as designed.
